The releasing from ‘Umrah for the pilgrim performing Tamattu‘

By shaving his hair, or shortening the length of a fingertip (2 cm), the pilgrim is released from his Ihram and all things become lawful, including husband and wife relations, but excluding hunting. The pilgrim then remains in Makkah till the 8th. day of Dhul-Hijja.
