Supplications on the Day of Arafah: :

The best supplications on that day are the words of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the tradition of the prophets before him:

“La Illaha illa Allah, wahdahu la shareeka lahu. Lahul el-mulk wa lahul el-hamd, yuhyi wa yumeet, wa hoa ala kulli shai’in qadir.”

(There is no deity but Allah, Alone. He has no partner. Sovereignty belongs to Him. All praise belongs to Him. He gives life and inflicts death and He is over all things Competent).

It is recommended to recite this invocation as often as possible (100 times at least)

  • “O Allah! I caused much injustice to myself and nobody forgives sins but You so pardon me with Your forgiveness and have mercy on me, You are the Oft-Forgiving the All-Merciful”.
  • “Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people”.
  • “Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower”.
  • “O Allah! You are my Lord! There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I am keeping Your covenant and keeping Your promise as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the mischief of my deeds, I admit the favors You have bestowed upon me, and I admit to You my sin, so forgive me; for nobody forgives sins but You”.
  • There is no god but Allah, Alone. He has no partner. To Him belongs (all) dominion, and all praise, and He is over all things Competent. O Allah! All praise belongs to You as we say and better than what we say. O Allah! Truly, my prayer, my rituals, my life and my death are (all) for You, to You is my return and to You my Lord is my inheritance. O Allah! Save me from the torture of the grave and from uneasiness of the heart and from confusion. O Allah! I seek Your protection from the evil outcomes of the wind.
  • Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. O Allah! Forgive me with Your grace by virtue of which You reform my state in the two worlds, and grant me a mercy by virtue of which I enjoy the felicity of the two worlds, grant me a sincere repentance that I will never break, and make me consistent on the right path from which I will never deviate. O Allah, transfer me from the humiliation of disobedience to the honour of submission, and content me with Your lawful provision away from the unlawful, and support me in obeying You and keeping away from disobedience, content me with Your favor from anyone else. And enlighten my heart and grave, save me from all that is evil and gather to me all that is good. I entrust You with my faith, my trusts, my heart, my body, my final deeds and all the graces You bestowed upon me and upon all my beloved ones and all Muslims.

The pilgrim remains in that state until the time of leaving Arafah (called “Nafrah”). He must stay at this station till sunset, so that he combines in his standing between night and day. He does not pray Al Maghrib in Arafah but he combines with Al Isha prayer at the time of Isha in Muzdalifah by one Azan (call for prayer) and an Iqama (a call to start praying).

The pilgrim tries to offer as many acts of charity and good deeds on the day of Arafah and during the whole ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.
